Yes, I am well acquainted with the Disk Management tool. Unfortunately there are no paths starting with Device Harddisk# visible here. The harddisk5 dr5 appears like a logical drive and partition on one of the non-system disks. The system disk will be disk 0. It appears as Disk 1 on my machine. In a computing device, hard disks and CD/DVD drives are connected to a device called hard disk controller which drives hard disk operation and data transfers. Oracle VM VirtualBox can emulate the most common types of hard disk controllers typically found in computing devices: IDE, SATA (AHCI), SCSI, SAS, USB-based, and NVMe mass storage devices. After windows is installed you can just go to toshiba website and download the drivers. YOur wifi won't download right away either, you will have to download form site. IF you look up your drivers windows vista/7 should install them for you. Google toshiba and drivers. I also formated the hard drive using Ubuntu live disk.

“I have a desktop that I added PCI based raid controller card as well. The BIOS displays the card and I was able to configure Raid 1 without any issue. But when I try to install Windows I got an error message “Windows cannot be installed to disk. This system hardware may not support booting to a disk. Manual Way to Enable Disk Controller in BIOS
There are multiple ways to enable AHCI mode for SATA on PC where Windows is already installed, and Windows that normally run after this operation. Please have a look on steps to solve your query on how to enable disk controller in bios menu windows 10:
- First of all, run the Registry Editor
- For this, press Windows + R and type regedit in the command line box
- Go to this section HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE SYSTEM CurrentControlSet Services iaStorV
- Double-click on Start icon and set its value to zero (0)
- In the upcoming section, HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE SYSTEM CurrentControlSet Services iaStorAV StartOverride set zero value for element 0
- In this section, HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE SYSTEM CurrentControlSet Services storahci set some values to zero for Start element.
- In the next subsection, HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE SYSTEM CurrentControlSet Services storahci StartOverride set zero value for element 0.
- In this case, there is nothing to be seen, but you can see, if AHCI may not be enabled yet.
- Close the Registry Editor
- Restart the system and go to BIOS or UEFI. For the first time after a restart, it is always better to boot Windows in safe mode
- In BIOS or UEFI, find SATA settings to choose the particular mode for memory devices. Switch all of them to AHCI, save settings and restart the PC
- After restarting, Windows can start the installation of SATA drivers, and when it gets over, it will ask for another restart. To do so, users will enable the AHCI mode in Windows. (If the above method does not work properly, here is another solution. To initiate with, if users have problems with booting Windows in AHCI mode, return to IDE and restart the desktop, After doing this:)
- Start the Command promptas an Administrator
- Type “bcdedit /set {current} safeboot minimal” in the command prompt and press Enter key
- After getting a message that the operation successfully completed, restart the computer system
- Before booting the system, enable the disk controller in BIOS or UEFI using the above method and save the settings
- The PC will only boot up in safe mode and install all required drivers.
- Again, launch Command prompt as Administrator and type in bcdedit /deletevalue {current} safeboot
- Once the command is executed, restart the PC again. This time, Windows needs to boot with AHCI enabled and without any restrictions.
Well, these instructions can theoretically result in unintended consequences like the inability to start the operating system. Moreover, this method requires technical skills and knowledge to accomplish the task. Here you have got the solution for your query How do I enable disk’s controller in the BIOS menu?

Hard Disk Manager itself and all HDM-based products (Drive Copy, Disk Wiper, Partition Manager, Backup & Recovery and Migrate OS to SSD) have RAID support. Computercorp driver download for windows 10.
We support all types of RAID (hardware and software) on one condition: your RAID should be set up and be recognized by your operating system as a single disk.
When working in Windows environment there is no difference between hardware and software RAID (except software RAID is slower as software RAID setup’s push the RAID controlling duties onto the CPU). However, for some operations reboot is required to perform changes and here you might encounter difficulties because your software RAID might not be recognized as RAID during reboot – this means you can’t perform operations on it (it will result in error). We highly recommend using hardware RAID array.

File System Driver (FSD) products for Mac (such as NTFS for Mac and ExtFS for Mac) should work with RAID volumes if it’s supported and detected correctly by OS X.
Recovery Media and RAID
- If you have built into your motherboard Intel based SATA/RAID controller and you do not need any windows drivers to use/see it (you would have needed to load drivers when installing windows) you should not need to load driver’s in the recovery environment – just create WinPE and boot from it. If you installed drivers for your SATA/RAID controller, then you will need to add drivers during WinPE creation or after you load in WinPE environment (Load Drivers Wizard). You cannot add drivers to Linux based recovery media because it is hard-coded for hardware support. You can read more about adding drivers at different steps in this article.
- Again – we do not recommend using software RAID controllers (even the windows utility) because you then need the software running in the recovery environment in order to see the array, which can be problematic. However if you have to use software RAID then you need to add software raid drivers in WinPE image as described in above mentioned article.
If you encountered difficulties when setting up your SATA controller to RAID mode for copy/migration – read this article related to SATA controller mode issues.
